Uh, by expanding his vocal chords possibly. It wasn't really that deep. He added a lot of raspiness that makes it sound deeper. I've heard much, much deeper.
shareO I'm sure was it the same as what Robert did for Freddy?
"I'm not interested in Saturn, I said Mars."
In the DVD special features they mention that he ate jellybeans to make his voice raspy and deep. Apparently the cast and crew were amused to see him eating jellybeans while wearing full makeup.
shareAnd just how can eating jelly beans make someone's voice deeper? If that was the case, then surely most kids would sound like axe-murderers. Whoever said that on the DVD was probably *joking*...
I think the obvious answer for Andrew's deep gravelly voice is probably smoking. His voice sounds like a smoker's voice. I've seen him smoke in several roles, so it's a likely explanation, along with his innate manly hormones and phenomenal sex-appeal too, (of course).
My normal voice is not far from that...
shareFor this movie heard he ate jelly beans, there's something in the candys that helped give his voice a eviler sound. I also have seen him in a few other movies where he does a deeper voice. Have you ever seen Another 48 hours, The Stranger, Running Cool? His voice was deeper in those as well. Hope that helps you out plus I think it is mentioned on the comentary on the Wishmaster 1&2 dvd you can buy.
I always cheer for the bad guy!
actually, in the production notes of the wishmaster 2 DVD they mentioned that Andrew ate Jelly Beans too, i guess, coat is throat so that he could get the deepness! LoL, they stated that they made fun of him because of his jelly bellies
It wasn't that deep... In Ghost Busters, for example, the voice of Zuul is done by Ivan Reitman.
Death to Videodrome! Long live the new flesh!share
