this film looks good
no one has mentioned how wonderful the cinematography is in this film - It's one of the movie's chief assets. Henry James is an extremely difficult read and so it must be very hard to adapt, so the dialogue at times is lacking because James writes a lot without saying anything. But the look of the film is just plain gorgeous, both Venice and England; both exterior and interior with wonderful costumes to boot. This is a film you could turn off the sound and just look at it and be impressed.
