Ha ha - the lava level never rises when it hits the barricade!
Despite the vast volume of lava continually moving down and building up!

shareOh,but don't forget, they lightly sprayed the lava with water,so that was well enough for it to solidify and stop it from raising.Oh those clever americans!
shareHAHA! I thought that too. There is no way that would really work. It's a new and fresh volcano being born and the lava isnt going to stop. They should have listened to Anne Heche's character when she said "all we can do is get out of it's way."
Everyone's entitled to one good scare...
Yah....worst ever. I mean c'mon....the heat of the lava would evaporate the water before it even had a chance to "cool it down". What a joke.
Plus, the lava never squeezed through the openings of the barricades. There's no way those barricades were set side by side so close, that lava would not have flowed through.
Plus, why did the people insist on standing directly on the other side of the barrier, as the lava pressed against it? The heat should've killed them all. And again any lava that would've flowed through the cracks, would've incinerated anyone on the other side.

pro ego sum diabolus, pro ego sum nex.
and all the shops lining that road had concrete barriers inside them?
no of course they didn't, the lava would've gone sideways taking the path of least resistance ie straight through the ground floor of one or more of those stores.
Pointless witty comment here ...
