Why is there not a Special Edition DVD of 'U Turn'

The Title says it all

Stone seems to love doing DVD commentaries, yet he hasn't done any for this film, HEAVEN AND EARTH, or TALK RADIO. On "Biography", he kinda hinted that he isn't very fond of those three

I can see why he'd disown this one. Obviously this was made during the peak of Stone's hashish-using. And I really wanted to like it, since I like just about everything Stone has done, but he just recycled the same mish-mash visual collage style that worked on "JFK" for the third movie in a row, and while it's less annoying than in "Nixon," it's still plenty annoying all the same.

This is clearly Stone running on empty, and it was the last film of his that I watched until "Any Given Sunday," and it was only after "World Trade Center" that I even liked one of his movies.

He's done a commentary for Heaven and Earth.

My two favorite OS movies are this one and Talk Radio. The two that don't have a commentary.*

*I don't know if Alexander or World Trade Center have one. I'm just going by the films in the box set, which go from Salvador to Any Given Sunday.

Schmuel would work 'til half past ten at his tailor shop in Klemovitch...

Yeah I loved here a commentary for this film.

reply

He wasn't fond of The Hand yet he provided a commentary track for that one.

Films are not reality. Reality is not film. Film is only an approximation of reality.

reply

It didn't do that well at the box office.
