Dumb... and hilarious
This movie is so goofy you can't help but enjoy it. The plane wouldn't be able to half of the big events, but it's a fun spectacle.
Ray Liotta is fun.
Check it out for action and a laugh.

It was too ridiculous and illogical for me. More annoying than entertaining.

I thought Liotta was too OTT. First his character had no problem being calm and controling himself and then suddenly he went full-on psycho. He also kept sticking out his tongue and making these weird facial expressions (I expected him to wink at the audience at one point). It was more comical than creepy.

"I crack up at some of the nitpicking and criticisms of these old films while the same people run around proclaiming perfection in modern cinema."
I'm certainly not one of those people. I'm old enough to have seen this movie on video back in the day and I don't even watch new movies anymore.
I can get with an absurd premise if there's still logic within the film. This one, though, asked too much suspension of my disbelief. I also felt it couldn't make up its mind about what kind of movie it wanted to be, Terror Train on a plane or the female version of Executive Decision.
The movie was officially a flop, by the way. Gross was $11 million on a $55 million budget.
