Was Truman only real resident in town?

After reading other threads, believe the actors only returned to set when he was scheduled to be up. You will notice when he leaves at end, they are called in to rtn early to locate him. Even the scene between him and his friend after his wife leaves is just between them and sure the other actors left the building to go home.

But does beg a question that if he was to ever need or chooses to visit a neighbor, what excuse they would give to an empty house.

I always figured they lived on the set. They all showed up pretty fast.

His best friend even "stocked vending machines" for a living. Plausible excuse to be away part of the week.

The biggest commitment has to be the Wife, that's a 365 day a year commitment for her.

what excuse they would give to an empty house.

The same old excuse like "at work" or "paid a visit to his granny" 

Truman's life is worse than prison. Everything about his life is made up, he wasn't even allowed to date the girl he had a crush on, his marriage is a lie too. It makes me wonder if that actress had a real husband outside the dome?

They addressed that in the movie. When they are looking like they are about to get romantic there is a cut to two guys watching the show anna one says, "they never show anything. They always cut away to the curtains blowing in the wind..." or something like that. Them the show cuts away to flashbacks.

reply

In terms of coitus the film addressed that, they cut away and played music.
