I know it's just a movie but I have to ask. How would this actually work? Truman was born into his world, so he grew up with other children and had friends. Were those little children actors? That seems impossible. Also, if those children weren't actors, well then they themselves were also little Truman's if you think about it.
shareI believe all people ever appearing in Truman's realm could be called actors. Obviously the young children growing up might be characterized differently, but other than Truman himself, all the people growing up with him were eventually knowledgeable about what was going on. The studio would have made very extraordinary arrangements for the kids' participation in the scheme (and lucrative arrangements with the kids' families), like being with Truman when called for, then leaving the structure to be with their real parents -- until when needed again -- possibly living their real daily lives on an on-call basis.
