Paul Bartel (Deathrace 2000, Eating Raoul) made his debut with this short (horror)comedy. It's pretty much The Truman Show but more farcical and much darker. The short was later remade as an episode of Spielberg's show Amazing Stories.

shareIf you want to buy them, the original 1968 version is part of the bonus content on the Criterion Collection's Blu-ray release of Eating Raoul and Amazing Stories are available on DVD. If you don't, the original 1968 version is still on Youtube and the weaker Amazing Stories version can be found on a (legal) free website called "Internet Archive".
