What if Truman Burbank was a bad person!?

I always wondered what if Truman was a bad man in being a psycopath or sociopath and wanted to become a criminal or murderer? What if he like hurting animals as a child?

Who would "tv production" would handle that?

What if realizing he is in a tv show and that all is fake, hurts or murders someone like her wife Meryl?

With his whole life under the microscope, a Sociopath type behavior would be impossible to develop unless laws and a television audience are willing to welcome it. A Sociopath is usually not in control of their emotions and easier to recognize (and thus get treatment). Most of them elude discovery and treatment by being reclusive or getting protection from people and family around them.

A Psychopath type of behavior might be slightly more possible for a very smart individual, but even it would be nearly impossible with no privacy at all provided in the environment. If all viewers see their every move every day, it would be clear the moment they start to exhibit any type of extreme behavior while alone or in front of others unless the Psychopath is able to hide the knowledge of their awareness about the reality show. Perhaps a Psychopath might be able to figure out where camera devices are located and avoid them when planning a devious act.

It could be possible for someone snap and suddenly attack someone if he has an aggressive personality and feels the need to escape the situation of an imprisonment or oppressive type of environment. This would be the more likely possibility.

Since the Truman Show occurs in a world unlike the existing one, it is hard to know what the laws and acceptance might be for someone who has extreme behavior attributes in that world.

They would just get him treatment and use it as part of the plot; and keep animals away from him. They could socialize him as much as he wanted, so they could reward the behaviour they wanted.

That was the original plan. I've always been intrigued by the idea.

True crime is a popular genre. I still think it would have been a hit, albeit with maybe a more limited audience. There would be ethical considerations for the producers to sort out, for sure, but it's not like the original Truman Show was completely ethically sound, either. I imagine they'd find a way to make it work out.

Sex and drama sells. This film makes me uncomfortable. I can't help but think about the things people do in private. What if Truman liked to sleep naked? What about when he was a teenager and he hit puberty? What about when he pleasured himself? I hate that my mind thinks about that, but they've made it very clear they film his every moment, and they show a camera looking right at his bed. It's a brilliant movie, but very freaky

Nope, if anyone here is the bad guy, it's Christof. Imagine having a TV show where you didn't have to pay any of the actors. This is "1984" meets "The Running Man" meets "As The World Turns" meets "The Whoretrashians".

This is 24/7 surveillance and harrassment disguised as a reality show. Everyone on the island is either equally corrupt or dumb enough to believe he's a terrorist or some other type of "predator", and so they all have a reason to cooperate whether it's for money, sex, or "civic responsibility".

If, by "bad" you mean "not well-endowed", then yeah, he is the worst of the worst. God only knows why this horrible monster is still free to roam the streets, causing nothing but disappointment and disgust wherever "it" goes, without the slightest possibility of pleasing anyone but himself. Be afraid. Be VERY afraid. You have been warned.
