its harmless fun but it is sad
some of those people like the jury woman who always weras a trek costume, or the dentist

shareI agree!, i mean, is not a bad thing being a fan of something or even enthusiastic...but taking it so far?...just my though...
Prostitute: What the *beep* are you doing?
Johnny: I'm gonna kill a bunch of people.
I don't own anything Star Trek related, but what's wrong with people dressing in whatever attire they choose, for everyday wear? Look at other people. Not many people complain when some guy shows up in cowboy drag (if it's not your job, it's drag). Religious people get tremendous latitude in what they wear, in spite of a lot of it being being as ridiculous as a Trek costume. There are people who wear scrubs in their daily lives, despite having no connection to medicine.
I think it's great that the people in this film share the thing that interests them the most, in such a visual way. On the whole, they seem like wonderful people.
whats wrong is these people have nothing more important in ther elives than star trek, when you take it to them extremes its obvious theres something issing in your life
and they wear star fleet attire as its as close as they will ever get to being in that imaginary world and that is sad live in the now, not some wrld you wish were true but isnt
Fink, theres something 'missing' with your 'issing.' haha Im a Star Trek fan of 19 years and I have to say, these guys are just sad.
shareI don't remember there being anything wrong with the dentist (it's been several years since I've seen this though). Maybe all that stuff puts patients at ease, helps them forget that they are at the freaking dentist, which can be intimidating at times.
The juror on the other hand, she lost me when she compared the Starfleet uniform to other uniforms. Sorry, but there's a big difference when other people put on uniforms for something that is REAL.
Im no model, but it seems to me that she was hiding. She is far from attractive (and her personality seems to be lacking too) and she probably wears the uniform as a big "F YOU!" to those that judge her. To her it is valid and it has meaning, but to us normal people, she needs a lot of counseling. Her weird group is her escape... Personally speaking she needs to get laid and then see Counselor Troi. haha

The sports reference is mostly accurate, but I think wearing a Star Trek uniform to a movie isn't like wearing a jersey, it's like a hockey fan wearing a complete uniform with skates and a hockey stick. Big difference, although I think it's pretty dorky to wear sports jerseys too!
The thing is, nobody can call out anybody else on "normal." You can make an easy argument against anyone. This starts in school when nerds get picked on for being spazzy virgins. That doesn't really change with the douchie jock mentality. Still, I think it's probably a little more acceptable because quirky is celebrated more than despised. The people in Trekkies were very entertaining and the only time I'd be nervous around any of those people would depend on how seriously they take themselves. I have a feeling most of them are just having fun. Nothing wrong with that.
She's not talking about going to a movie, she's talking about going to court! You want to wear a starfleet uniform to the movies, more power to ya. If you're a juror you should wear appropriate attire.
shareExactly. She's an idiotic dyke with no life.
I cant beat monster butts, but I can beat your hungry guts. Thats for sure!
