Legitimately surprised how far the ratings have fallen!

Wow!

Back in the old days (five years ago or so) this movie was ALWAYS ahead of Toy Story 1 on the Top 250, and I remember at one point it was listed at 8.5/10 and TS1 was at 8.4. It was somewhere near 100 on the Top 250 and TS1 was like #210.

What the hell happened? I love the whole trilogy but wow, this movie REALLY fell in its rankings, and it almost seems like some kind of rigging went on. The simple fact is that critics universally hailed this as one of the rare sequels as good as, if not better than, its predecessor. Why the hell did this rapidly drop out of the Top 250 and sink down to a 7.9/10?

Something funny going on here.

What Would Gibson Do?

Probably because Toy Story 3 came out and everyone started to rethink their rating of this one. Honestly though I thought this one was great....it deserves way better than a 7.9

I rewatched this one yesterday, and the Third one last week. And I don't really get all the fuzz about Toy Story , 'Cause this one is way better.

It seems some movies on IMDB go through dramatic ratings chances every now and then. I would definitely say that this one's rating falling is almost as upsetting as The Lion King's rating skyrocketing.

If everything is not all rainbows and kittens for you today, hopefully it will be tomorrow!

For some reason I've never liked TS2 that much. I watched it when I was a kid, I thought it was meh, watched it again as an adult still thought it was a bit meh. It doesn't have as much rewatch value as the other movies in my opinion.

I mean, it's wasn't by no means a bad movie, just not great. The first will always be my favourite that I can watch again and again and still love it, even though TS3 is a very close call to the first.

I think what makes TS3 better is nobody expected it to be as good as it is, I watched it when it was released in 2010 and went in expecting it to be okay like TS2, and was blown away by it, I had to watch it again.

I would personally rate TS2 a 6.5/10. Because IMDb currently has movies I thought were better rated lower in comparison to this, i.e. The Polar Express and An American Tail. Even Sword in the Stone is a stingy 7.2.
