shareYes very much, in fact I think if you don't then you're not human!

It's a very sad song and when you see the montage you can understand Jesse's attitude.
shareI cried when I first saw it it was extremely sad how Emily abandoned Jessie and didn't even think about what if she had a little girl?
shareI cry every single time! It's one of the saddest scenes I've ever seen.
shareYea I felt so bad for Jessie. It was all Emily's friend's fault for introducing her to that nail polish at a young age. I would never let my daughter have any of that stuff til she was at least 16. I still have a few childhood toys I would never dream if giving away ever!
shareYes. I have a teddy that I've had for 33 years, since I was 2. I would never abandon him. He's my friend and counsellor when I need to sound off and nobody to talk back to me. Love him!
shareI love this song, and my first inclination is to sing along with it. But every time I try, I get so choked up I can't finish it.
The saddest thing about "When She Loved Me", IMO, is that it didn't win the Oscar for Best Song. Not that "You'll Be in My Heart" is bad, but I don't think it has the originality of "When She Loved Me".

The movie plays up the melodrama with that scene and the song accompanying it. I confess that I got a little teary eyed, but then I felt a little stupid, because Jesse is really just a doll. If all dolls are as sentient as Jesse, there is some major abuse going on in the world.
The problem is that it makes the charity out to be the bad guy, boxing up the unwanted dolls and delivering them to a sort of concentration camp. There is a theory that the Toy Story movies are an allegory about the Holocaust, but I will let you look that up.*
Giving Jesse to charity could allow her to be given to needy child, whose parent(s) can not afford to buy a brand new model. Her new owner could love her even more than her previous one. How's that for a happy ending?
*I just started watching TS3. The Holocaust analogy is most applicable to that movie. I am half way through it. Please don't spoil the ending for me.

A dope trailer is no place for a kitty.
No, it just annoys me. if the stupid doll didn't want her owner to get tired of her, she should ahve shown that she coudl walk and talk and interact with her, nobody would ever get tired of a dioll that could do that, Instead she just lay passively under the bed. Why? oneo f the comics i had as a child had a story cAlled 'lucky's Living Doll' about a girl who had a doll that cAme alive, and they had adventures together. if jessie's owner knew she was alive, they'd be together still.
shareTo me it was sadder than the fire pit scene in Toy Story 3, but not quite as sad as when
SPOILER
Andy gave the toys away
(Sorry, I use the IMDB app so I can't do any of the fancy stuff like clickable links)
Spoiler below!!!!!
The fire pit scene in III didn't affect me one bit (although Jessie's song about Emily did). I knew they weren't going to be incinerated so there was no big deal. BUT, when Andy played with his toys for the last time and watched Woody "wave" goodbye to him, I admittedly teared up behind my 3D glasses, which I wore out of the theater so no one would see me misty eyed.
