Women & children first? Nah, brah. Survival of the fittest.

If I was on that sinking ship you best believe my penis and I would be getting onto one of those lifeboats.

Also: Bill Burr says that THIS is the reason why men are entitled to higher pay than women! Because in times of life & death, men are expected to fall back and take one for the team. Hell naw.

It’s how things worked back then. As long as the woman “behaved” (which Rose clearly wasn’t), men were expected to treat them very well, buy them stuff, provide for them, take care of them and that meant giving up their seat on a lifeboat. I mean look at Ismay, he got on the lifeboat when there were still women and children on the ship and he was remembered as the “coward of the Titanic” or something.

Ismay was a coward and a skunk, but he didn't actually take any women's or children's seats - those lifeboats were launched well below capacity because most passengers didn't want to get off that nice warm ship and get into a lifeboat lowered 6 stories by rope - until things really went bad.

That is true and even the film shows us that, but at the same time I don’t know how anyone in good conscience can get off the ship when there are still children on board. Like I don’t know if I could live with myself.

A skunk because instead of telling the officers loading the boat TO LOAD, as the guy who designed it said they would float even overloaded by double Actually he and the officers should have known that

The Ship did not have enough lifeboats to start with

BUT then they had the class system working against them --- 1st & 2nd class gets loaded 1st, the rich and powerful after that you're on your own

They really did keep the 3rd class steerage folks under lock and key and barely let them out
during the trip

BUT then again the ship was "Unsinkable" so why worry --- right

reply

In real life, Ismay actually directed many passengers to the lifeboats. It wasn't until he realized the situation was hopeless that he actually abandoned ship.
