Better than Fargo

And I love the movie, Fargo.

Fargo is infinitely better

was going to comment on how this felt like a Coen brother movie. Anyone who thinks it's better then Fargo though is out of their mind.

reply

Different than Fargo. The only thing they have in common is snow and crime. Fargo is a brilliant dark comedy. A Simple Plan is a suspense thriller that falls apart toward the end.

"Fargo is a brilliant dark comedy"

Indeed more than anything "A Simple Plan" lacks the black humour of Fargo as well as a Marge Gunderson or a Jerry Lundegaard. And where have those neat Minnesota accents gone?

Between the two I'd say, even though A Simple Plan is a good movie, Fargo is the superior film.

I like Fargo but A Simple Plan is much better.

Art is subjective. And with that friendly reminder...

I love Fargo and disliked this film as a whole (5/10). Granted, ASP had some compelling scenes, but the suspension of disbelief was too great for me, while the writing utilized too many plot devices. Whereas Fargo's storyline unfolded in a more organic way; the dialogue was seemingly natural, and the "idiocracy" more believable. :P

Not.

Fargo by a far distance. A Simple Plan is a very good thriller, but Fargo is a masterpiece of American Cinema.
