American indie films

I caught this movie here in the UK on TV last week and was quite impressed.I guess it showed the attitudes of American teenagers in smalltown USA that we don't really see much of this side of the pond.From the comments I've read it sounds like a realistic portrayal.

Can anyone recommend other similar US indie films?Ruby in Paradise and All Over Me are a couple of my favourites.

I didn't like Kids-I thought it was exploitative,pandering to rather dubious tastes.
