The ending *SPOILERS*

So, did Bee-Bee make it or what? I think Jeff said that he thought she was breathing, and Tim went to get Scuff's truck, and then the movie ends.

This is something that I've always thought a bit strange- in the play, Bee-Bee is dead. No question about it. In the movie, she is still alive, just barely.
I've always wondered why Eric Bogosian made that change. Probably because the producers wanted an ending which gave more room for hope, as opposed to the ending of the play, where Jeff is just alone- he seems to have finally realized that Tim is a creep, and will probably drift apart from him, Sooze and Buff both left, and Bee-Bee is dead.
It doesn't affect the ending that much- it still packs a punch- but it isn't quite as tragic as the ending of the play.
This change doesn't bother me, since I love the movie so much; it's just a change that I've always wondered about.

She's dead. you don't have to see a dead body to know this. just like many other films and television, the symbolism for death is enough. just because you want Tony Soprano or in this case Bebe to be walking around alive and well, doesn't make it so. it's film making 101. if she had lived or might have we would have been given a clue. the idea of the end is to show the town going on w/o her. we're are to assume that there is nothing more exciting to see. just like every other comedy we are to assume (aside from sequels) that the movie ends and so does the relevant and interesting things that happen in these characters lives. movies, especially comedies (and it is one, look up the definition, its more than funny = comedy) are set up so we are to assume the characters lives go on mundanely from this point on.So just like Shane before her, she's dead, you just don't get to see her rot. sorry.

i hate that people call certain endings "open ended" when they just can't think. just because you don't physically see something happen doesn't mean you're not supposed to know. it's called logic.

she was just sleeping, and the others are just too drunk to realize it

I guess we'll just have to wait for Suburbia 2 to find out the answer
