This film doesn't seem dated to me.
I am not from Generation X, I am apart of this current generation, Y or Z or whatever it's called.
But anyways, this film still seems relevant today. I meet kids in my town and they act like the character portrayed in the film. I also found myself relating to Ribsi's character the most (I'm sure a lot of other people do to), I'm not sure if that's a good thing.
I see people that say this film is dated and stuck in the 90s, but I still think the film is very relevant today. We all go through our angsty teenager phase and go into a state of confusion, not sure of where our future might lead us, and afraid of the results.
Not to mention the film captures the atmosphere of being outside on a hot summer night, very well.
I only made this post because I just watched Reality Bites. Now that's a dated load of crap. Linklater and Bogosian did it a lot better.
I'm from Paris... TEXAS
