Even it's title with the freaking capital letter in the middle "SubUrbia" aleady gives it up... not to mention the girl's so called "art", the idiot talking about his "video" he made... adding to that the setting, nihilistic vibe, clothes etc. There's nothing in this movie that wouldn't scream 90s... just like Ferris Buehler's... is the embodiment of the 80s.

I guess that's why I so *beep* love it. Like Romeo + Juliet that was released the same year (and also features a weird character in its title).

Seriously... what was wrong with the 90s. WTF people thought that "video... virtual reality" will be the next big thing, made movies with capital letters inside a one word title, or X at the end, or a number between letters or "+" sign... etc. What the hell was wrong with these people? Why did they look like Cobain with disinterested look on the face, dirty clothes and "whatever" attitude, why black guys had ridiculous hairstyles and everyone though the world will end because of some computer problem in 2000...???

The Generation X youth...sooo dig it. I watched this movie today after receiving it on VHS from Amazon and it did take me back to my 20s (in the 1990s) before there was facebook & what-not on the internet...not much has really changed though, I can still drive thru my old neighborhood in Carmichael/Citrus Heights and see the latest generation of kids hanging out/up to no good on the street corners of any liquor store/Circle K/Del Taco/Coffee Shop, etc...facebook really hasn't changed that trend any -

The greatest thing about the 90's was the overall apathy, Life was good: Bill Clinton was president, everything was statuesque. The internet was still a pretty new thing, cell phones were still pretty rare as in no kid carried one.

Life was full of surprises and was relatively simple, I'd say it wasn't till about 1999 that the paradigm started to shift from rock to boy bands and rap-rock.

I miss the 90's because of how simple things were.

time lock of great music! the mid 90s. 1992-1997, those 6 years were the best years of music i think, great punk, grunge, rock. just started listening to music when i was 13 in 1993, damn! i love this movies sound track.

no cell phones on every body like now adays. it was a simpler time like Cruisen said.

here in Canada, money and school were good!

9/11, ensuing wars, loss of privacy.

2008 economy collapse.

Those two things alone practically make the 90's an entirely different world from what we're living in now.

It was made in the mid 90s. Hmmm. Seems 90s huh? This ones a gem.
