Jeff really bugged me. The constant winy existential crisis thing bugged me. I felt like the audience is supposed to like him/sympathize, but I couldn't quite do it.

shareIdk. I liked Jeff. I found him relateable. There are turning points and awkward times at certain points in life and I can understand being leery of the future. I can see why people called him Whitney but I understood where he was coming from. Maybe I'm whineyvtoo but I find myself pondering the same things he brought up in the movie especially being the age I am now, 26, maybe a tad older than the characters but even though this movies is so 90sd out (which I love.. Nostalgia city,) it still holds up.
shareTim (Nicky Katf) is the dumbest of all. In one scene he buys a fifth of whiskey or something at the liquor store and proceeds to fill up a hip flask and throw the rest of the bottle in the street, breaking it. Why waste his tiny disability check like that, instead of get a small bottle?
In another scene when Jeff is talking about how people have it bad in the third world, Tim asks what does he know, has he ever been there. Then he proceeds to describe how bad it is - which Jeff just said. He was the one who argues for no reason, not Jeff. He tries to create drama and violence, plays cruel tricks on his so-called friend, and walks around half-drunk all the time. Nobody with any sense would hang out with him. He's the kind of guy who yells "fire" in a crowded theater or tries to start a riot and stands back to watch.
