Who Saw This In Theatres?

I remember watching tv and saw a commercial for this and liked it so much that I wanted to see it so bad, and I did.

Now back then I was only 10, and...I liked it.

Okay, who else saw this film in theatres.

BTW, I haven't seen it since LOL

It's not a lie if you believe it.

I saw a free screening. I did like it at the time but I was like 14 and a huge shaq fan. It's partially my fault this got released as I recommended it on the survey questions after the movie.

I did.

I read the DC Comics "Reign of the Supermen" storyline during it's near-year story-arc in 1993. Truly, the most fun I've ever had reading a continuing comic book series. This was the debut of 'Steel', who was a strong character during the tale.

I felt obligated, out of my admiration for the "Reign of the Supermen" (a.k.a. "The Return of Superman") story, to see the 'Steel' movie. I was there for the opening show on opening day. - No one else was in the theater.

The 'Steel' movie was disapointing. It felt like a made-for-TV kind of film. It wasn't horrible, but it didn't really grab me either.

In 2007, I had the privilage to meet 'Steel' co-creator/original artist Jon Bogdanove. He's a heck of a nice guy.

When I read "The Reign of the Supermen", I had originally imagined a movie version of 'Steel' to be played by Avery Brooks who was Benjamin Sisko on "DS9". I thought his commanding presense and voice would have been ideal for the role at the time . . .

But hey, that's just me . . .

I remember when the advertisements ran on TV for this, it looked interesting until I noticed it was Shaq in armor with a hammer looking heroic and blowing *beep* up, I did consider seeing the film but I just couldn't buy Shaq in action/comic book movie so I passed on it but the funny thing about this was that the film only lasted in theaters for 2 weeks at a theater I used to go frequently in Dallas.
