New Steel Movie
While this movie really wasn't good at all, it was also made during a time when the majority of the popular superhero movies and shows were more about camp than quality. Between the second two Batman movies, the Lois and Clark tv show, the Ninja Turtle movies (at least II and III), the Superboy and Flash shows, and just about everything else based on comic book characters from the mid-80s to late-90s, they most likely were forced by the studio to make a campy version because the studios thought audiences wouldn't respond well to a serious film. But nowadays, with most superhero movies being much darker and serious in tone, it would be the perfect opportunity to bring back the character to the silver screen and actually due him some justice. I always loved the comic heroes that didn't actually have any powers, but still felt compelled to use whatever skills and resources they had to try and fight crime and protect the innocent, and not just depend on heroes like Superman or Green Lantern. Also, with Superman's rise in popularity over the last 5-10 years, the new Steel movie could address the issue of his existence, which they left out of the last movie since they wanted to try to distance it from the Superman name. The suit and special effects would also be a lot better with the current CGI capabilities, although I'd rather see an at least mostly physical suit as opposed to going the route they did with the Silver Surfer in the Fantastic Four sequel. With all the planned solo DC character movies on their way, if they decide to do the inevitable Justice League movie, having a solo Steel movie under their belt would be nice, so they could utilize a character whose backstory has already been told and audiences are familiar with, rather than not including him, or having a shallow character that is there for little more than a cameo role.
