Tim Burton and Alex Proyas were considered as directors?!

Wow, what could have been.

I was entertained but whoa, bad bad movie. Martin Sheen is a great actor, but he was hideous in this movie. And who the hell is Michael Li?? He certainly ever made it in Hollywood

I don't think I could have seen Burton directing the film, but Proyas for sure. He showed The Crow and even moreso in Dark City (a criminally underrated masterpiece) that he's absolutely perfect for dark, evocative material and distinctive visuals. I think a Proyas-helmed Spawn (at least in the 90's... Proyas' more recent work has gone through a substantial stylistic change) would have been a much-better film. Even if they had to use to same wonky script from this movie. He would have elevated the material in a better way.

And FURTHERMORE, this is my signature! SERIOUSLY! Did you think I was still talking about my point?

Tim 'anyone who knows me knows I would never read a comic book' Burton would have turned them down if he was asked, anyway... He'd already done Batman, which was much higher profile, and it's clear he doesn't have a lot of respect for the genre.

I think just about anyone may have been better than Mark A.Z. Dippé.🐭
