Why isnt Hollywood making a remake of Spawn?

Its an awsome comic and could be a hugh hit if its done well with a good budget and director and screenwriter....Hollywood should do more movies of Image comics...like bloodstrike and brigade and a spawn reboot. Cant understand why nothing is really happening when they do remakes of movies like Carrie and Evil Dead....

I think it's because it's "too dark" and it wouldn't fit their pussy PG-13 format.

I agree it should be remade and done justice, maybe the guys who did "Dredd" could make it right : with BALLS, not pussy gay-ass pg-13

That, coupled with the fact it was never what you'd call a sure-fire hit in the first place. Hollywood likes to put their money into what they think will be a guaranteed hit. That's why we get the endless Spiderman reboots.🐭

Dredd was a total flop, bro. Do some research. It had a 50 million budget and only made 35 million...worldwide!

That movie is a reason to give for why they should not remake Spawn. It was a terrible film that the general public had no interest in. How "gay ass" is that?

The amount of money the movie made has nothing to do with anything. 'Fight Club' was a flop theatrically, as well. So were plenty of other good films.

'Dredd' was a good movie (and even has a 78% fresh RT rating). Just because people didn't go see it, doesn't mean it wasn't good.

Yeah and that is the reason why the majority of fans loved it and pushed it with the bluray sales. It was the perfect Dredd but most of us feared a Stallone desaster, so we stayed away from the cinemas.

Furthermore, no it had a 45 million budget and made 41 worldwide. At least get your facts straight. After the box office it made an additional 18 million with dvd and blu ray sales.
Sure it is far from being a success but seeing how little it was promoted it should have broken even with these figures.

...but they hung him anyway.
Hanged, Ami. Your father was not a tapestry.

It's absolutely ripe for a remake or reboot right now.

Look at Deadpool - Not a well known superhero, R-rated film and its smashing the box office right at the moment!

If a Spawn remake, reboot or sequel came out in the next year and it was done with some cash behind it and a decent director it could very well start a whole new franchise. One that I, even though I love this film, would be very happy to see!

Why did you feel the need to create yet another thread about a reboot?

Clearly, Hollywood isn't interested in this character any more.

THERE IS NO REBOOT/REMAKE COMING.

Just try to enjoy the original movie for what it is...not every movie needs to be remade for millennials.
