Why is an Englishman running the US military
I know Hollywood likes to use brits as bad guys but come on its the US army don't you need to be a citizen of US just to join infantry never mind become a general or whatever he was supposed to be

sharePaul Anderson wanted Jason Isaacs for the role. They are both British and this was their third film together. Suppose he could've faked a US accent though, he has done some good ones since.
shareI thought he was doing an American accent. It was sort of a half-shrug attempt, but he certainly didn't seem to be using his natural accent here.

Yeah, it was definitely not his natural accent. The guy was born in Liverpool and no way he had used that accent (if he grew up there as well). If you ever heard the accent you know what I mean.. it is kinda hard to understand.
