In the end it is shown that when Val Kilmer is driving the car, sunlight is reflected on the widshield and forms a sort of a halo. I think it was a pretty good way to end the movie, since throughout the movie Val Kilmer's aliases are names of saints, don't you think?

I think it was more to represent his charitable donations (i.e. you hear on the radio that 3 billion has been donated to the red cross and other charities) which alludes to him giving away the fortune he got his hands on. it's been a while since I've seen this, so I could be wrong.
