The proccess of fusion

I'm no chemist so but I was wondering about Dr.Emma Russels explanation "very simply" of the proccess of fusion. Is it accurate? I know movies have a tendency to just say what ever they want which I then later erroniously quote and are proven wrong. Like in Transformers John Voight says that the Laurentian abyssal is the deepest place on earth when it's most certainly not. It's the Marianna Trench. I don't understand why they couldn't just put the Transformers badie in there in stead.. Sometimes I swear it's the purpose of hollywood to dumb us down as well as their movies.

Her explanation is horribly wrong. Of course, that's to be expected, since cold fusion doesn't exist, any more than the Heisenberg Compensators that make Star Trek's transporters possible. Still, though, its just a horribly bad case of a writer putting in some scientific stuff with no understanding of how to make it sound even plausible. It's actually really gratingly bad.
