Even at an overly generous 1 oz. per canape, that's 4800 canapes. Since there only appeared to be about 200 people at this shindig, when was the last time these vultures ate?

You shouldn't take every comment made in a film at face value. There is no reason to believe that she was being literal when saying 300lbs.
