Dr. Greg Lee dying was telegraphed. Why? Because he was a jerk to Margo. Being a jerk means death.
Margo living was a must. Why? She was the damsel in distress.
Had to know the black guard was dog food. It's not a scary movie unless that happens.
For that matter, three of the five black people shown got killed. Those odds suck!!
Only the lady cleaning the relic and the little boy live.
Definitely staying true to patterns that have appeared in a lot of these types of films. But I will say, though, that I relished Dr. Lee biting the bullet. On the flip side, I honestly thought that the Mayor would die and was quite surprised when he made it out alive!

I am not a fan. I just happen to enjoy movies. Fans are embarrassing.
I recommend reading the book as the movie is a pretty bad translation to film.
