Hail Gen Bethlaham!

If I was there I think Id join his army and kick some ass. I'd rather be strong than a weakling in these situations. IF you join you get food, weapons, someone to watch your back and the spoils of war. The towns people were fools in trying to fight a trained army with guns and horses.

Might makes right.

In my opinion, he is the greatest movie villain of all time.

And what is the opinion of someone who cleary watch many movies?

reply

I do as a matter of fact. Don't get me wrong, I think General Bethlehem was probably the best part of the film, but he's far from the greatest villain in cinema...

Lecter is never even the central villain in his own movies; Buffalo Bill, Tooth Fairy, Verger and Grutas are.

Vader is a damned lackey that sacrifices his own life to kill the actual villain.

Having them as high as they are invalidates the whole list.

Maybe it took more strength to avoid joining his army.

They were a bunch of weaklings. Even Bethlehem who got his butt kicked by Kevin Costner. They all clung to each other like huddling pansies who needed each other to protect them. To go out solo with "no harness on your back" demonstrates a particular strength that was severely lacking in the Holnists.

Though I do agree that it would be hard to survive as an unorganized, unarmed rabble against an army like the Holnists. But once organized and armed, the rabble could surely defeat the army.
("the soldiers are paid to fight. The rebels are not... the rebels could win" [Michael Corleone])
("A well organized militia being necessary to the free state..." [US Constitution])

All it takes is a mailman with a chip on his shoulder to take down the prevailing government of tyranny.

My "#3" key is broken so I'm putting one here so i can cut & paste with it.
