how on earth was clooney not shot..

...from point blank range when he's sitting in the car trying to get away. He was shot at about 4 times...nobody is that bad a shot.

I thought the same thing, but his friend had mentioned bulletproof glass, but I thought I saw holes in the glass, so I'm not sure either.

The car was bulletproof. The bad guy empties his gun into the windshield, looks annoyed, and reloads. Clooney sticks his gun through the hole that the 4 or 5 shots did manage to make and shoots back.

As others have mentioned, bulletproof glass, which spreads the force of the impact out so it spiderwebs but prevents the bullet from going through. The obvious disadvantage is that several bullets in a single area will ultimately compromise it and one will finally go through. The bad guy seemed to realize this and was reloading when DeVoe shot him in the arm.
