Steam engines?

The Russians weren't using steam after the 80s, but they were transporting their nukes by steam engine trains?

This will be the high point of my day; it's all downhill from here.

They still used steam engines in the 1980s?

China still uses them. Poland has a few in operation as well. The Soviet Union continued to manufacture them until 1956 and the last ones in use were in the mid-80s in Siberia. Most US mainline steam locomotives were retired by 1960, but a steel and wire manufacturer used one until the early 1980s, and UP has one operational steam locomotive on their roster to this day.

Looked at that page, I was surprised to read in that Britain (where I'm from) steam engines were still used industrially in some places up to the 1980s. But the last mainline steam train in Britain was 1968.+
