Robin Tunney's best performance to date. 12 years have gone by since I last saw this and recently watched it again. I remember now why I bought this for my library. It stands out as one of those great effective independent films that left an impression on me. Tunney is by far at her best here. A great original story by Gosse.
I agree. I thought she fit the character perfectly, and I haven't been able to take her as seriously in any of the other roles I've seen her in, after this. I thought she did a good job in convincingly portraying both the character's strengths and vulnerabilities. She brought a good sense of physicality to the character. My heart melted for her in this movie.

henry thomas did a great job as well.. i had a huuuuuge crush on him when e.t. came out, so i think the old crush tucked in the recesses of my subconcious brain combined with his performance in this movie made me fall in love with him a little bit when i saw this..
