Just got the bluray
Looks great. On par with any other Disney bluray. I waited years for it and I'm glad they finally did it.

shareHi. I'd be interested to know if the Blu Ray, before the film starts, has the Miramax title card or if it says 'Walt Disney Pictures', or neither?
I don't remember the Miramax title card but it does have that CGI Disney castle.
shareThere is no Miramax title card. When the film's title is shown, you get the original Japanese title if you select Japanese audio, and "Princess Mononoke" for English.
Unfortunately, there are no subtitles, only dubtitles. At least they modified them slightly so there isn't anything displayed when no one is talking (a problem on the Castle in the Sky Blu-ray). But still, I'm very disappointed. I'm keeping my Miramax DVD for when I want to watch the original Japanese version.

So the DVD with it is the same way? Least you can chuck that and put the other in its place.
shareYep, that's exactly what I did.
To be clear, if you prefer the English dub, you won't be disappointed. The picture and audio are beautiful.
How does the dvd included in the new blu-ray pack compare to the original dvd? Which transfer does it compare closer to? Menus? Extras? And yes, which subtitle track is it closer to, the literal translation on the old dvd or the blu-ray?
