Why Did The Judus ...

I could never understand why the Judus let Chuy live? Just because he could mimic them with his spoons? Help please.

I guess so. They thought he was one of them. I still wonder how he got away with not smelling like one, though.

It's been a long time since I last saw the movie.

If I recall correctly, fawns (baby deer) don't have a scent. This prevents them from being tracked by predators.

So yes, it would make sense that the bug's offspring are odorless.

Everyone was being tracked because of their pheromones. We only give these off after puberty and Chuy was too young, so they couldn't sense him as prey like the adults. So when he played the spoons to sound like them, they no longer saw him him as a threat. They couldn't sense him as one of their own exactly, but the spoons confused them enough to make them think he was somewhat related or a neutral party.

The kids don't give off scent theory is bull crap. Then why were those two other kids killed near the beginning? Because they were a little older? Give me a break. Next you'll be saying it's because retarded kids don't give off as much scent. It's a dumb corny movie just face it.

i guess it's more because they were trying to get the nest to themselves.

didn't Mira said something about the bugs protecting the nest at all cost...

could have gotten it wrong though, i watched it with no subs.

They were a lot older than Chuy. There's a reason why pheromones get mentioned later on and Chuy's father sweats a lot out of fear; hence why he's always spunging his neck with the gland more than the others. His scent is ultimately what gives him away. Though in the original script he's killed differently, where the original main monster (The Albino) is protecting Chuy from his father. Look it up. A similar theory about kids and sweat was used in a late episode of The X Files (the one with the bacteria in the subway).
