How has this not actually happened?

When I saw the movie was about giant bugs that can both mimic humans and kill them, I thought it must be a true story yet it isn't even based on a true story. I was shocked.

This HAS actually happened...this started out as a documentary but THEY said it would cause widespread panic, so it was released as fiction. We're all just gullible!
