After the ending

I just saw this again on one of the channels on the ROKU.

I know we're supposed to suspend all disbelief but if they continued on in the movie after coffee shop guy and Susan walk away, what would have happened?

"Where's Dad?" Susan would either have to explain or keep her mouth shut and let someone else discover the body.

Coffee shop guy would say that Susan already knew he was dead before the body was discovered by her statement that she wishes he could have known her father.

Sister would ask Susan how she knew their father was dead and why would she leave him lying there on the other side of the hill to go back to the party.

Somehow, Coffee shop guy would have to explain how it wasn't he didn't murder their father and he doesn't know what happened to himself either. Susan would have to explain this supernatural occurrence and I don't know how that would stand up in a court of law if it went that far.

Susan might have to admit to Coffee shop guy later how she had sex with his body and why was she attracted to what she later discovered was "Death". Does she love Death more than he?

I just can't imagine the fiasco after the ending even within this movie.

My big question in the beginning would be how such a smart man who is either having a mild heart attack or angina wouldn't have gotten his butt to a cardiologist asap and gotten checked out. Yes, he could have still died when his time was up but you'd think he'd go to a doctor despite hearing voices.

It's such a silly movie (but a guilty pleasure of mine for Hopkins performance).

I'd assume that Susan would inform her sister that she found their father deceased, and that the subsequent autopsy would indicate heart failure.

One would also assume that Hopkins character didn't get to the hospital because he heard the "voice" coinciding with his chest discomfort/pain. And was soon visited by Death himself to confirm what he was he already knew: That his time was limited.

I know, it's kinda weak, but when you've suspended belief enough to get to the end of the film, might as well go all the way.

I know, but the main thing is she knows her father is dead and how is she going to explain leaving him there on the other side of the walk? Especially with telling Coffee shop guy she wishes he would have known her father when no one else knows he's dead yet.

And then trying to start out a relationship with Coffee shop guy now with all this baggage, lol!

Good questions, I don't know.

But . . . maybe she simply tells them both the truth. That is, how she came to know those things.

At least Coffee Shop Guy should buy it, he has no idea why he's there to begin with, last thing he remembers is standing in the street looking back at her.

That's right but it's funny to think how it would play out in real life. Let him lay there until the guests leave or will they start looking for him beforehand if they're not preoccupied with the festivities.

OMG, it's a movie (and not a realistic one at that), not a forensic investigation. Susan falls madly in love with Death, but your problem with the film is that she did not inform everyone right away that daddy had passed away. Seriously?!!! In fact, she didn't even see his body. For all she knows, he walked to the other side of the bridge and she didn't follow him. It's his birthday party. At some point they will realize he is missing, search for him and find his lifeless corpse. An autopsy will clearly establish that he died of natural causes.
