Just trying to figure out exactly how Spielberg could have left such a glaring mistake in the scene which shows a dismembered hand, with the T-Rex obviously not able to reach those places. I know there is a deleted scene with velociraptors, but given it was cut, how could this have been missed on the cutting room floor?

There was supposed to be raptors on the boat as well as the T-Rex, but the raptors were cut out and somehow they forgot to fix the continuity.

I know about that. What I'm wondering is if Spielberg actually made a legitimate error or if he just didn't care enough to fix it. Knowing him, there is no way something like that could be missed while editing the film.
