The Latino Named 'Carter'
HEY ZEUS!!! How did things like this get last the script breakdown?
shareHaha I always thought that was a weird name for him.
shareMaybe only his mom is Hispanic. People like this exist in real life you know.
shareCould have been his first name.
"World needs bad men. We keep the other bad men from the door"
Why can't a latino have a name like Carter?
shareThat was my first thought, but I'm Aussie, I trusted the tanks and Latinos on the page as to wha was and wasn't normal.
sharemy brother in law was born in colombia and raised in colombia and his name is Anderson. it's actually quite common. a lot of times they get it from film and tv. he's named after mcguver, richard dean anderson. lol
shareThe script doesn't describe his ethnicity. He was named Carter before Thomas Rosales Jr. was cast.
I mean, really, how many times will you look under Jabba's manboobs?
He was listening to stereotypically Latin music in the scene where he's got his headphones on and ignores Dieter's cries for help. And he shouts Spanish in later scene when the T-Rex attacks then camp, so it can't have escaped the filmmaker's attention that Rosales Jr. was Latin.
I always wondered about the name too. Although I have a Latin mother and an Irish-British father, and thus my surname is Anglo, it still seemed odd. 'Carter' is about as generically Anglo as you can get.
Really? Have you ever heard of Robinson Cano? Surnames as first names aren't unique to the US or White folks hahaha
shareThomas has died more time than Sean Bean on film! Check out his death reel on youtube. I was waiting for him to die in dawn of the apes but he was saved by an ape
shareNot sure what Zeus is supposed to do about it. I work with a straight up Mexican guy named Jerry Betterton and his cousin Lorenna Bosch. What's your glitch?

I'm neither a Liberal nor a Conservative... I think for myself.
Maybe the script was written as Carter but they didn't find suitable guy to play Carter so they went for a Latino.
