This one gets too much hate

This is my favourite out of the Jurassic Park sequels.

In order of most to least JP films:

JP
JPIII
JPTLW
JW

I can explain in great detail if needed. This film was only slightly better than Jurassic World, and that isn't saying much at all.

In my opinion JP and TLW are the best ones. JW is entertaining but the characters are so two dimensional, and they re-used a lot from the first one instead of being original. JPIII felt more of a straight to DVD movie.

I really enjoyed this movie, but felt after the raptors show up it goes down hill. The gymnastics stuff was awful and the city, while entertaining to me because I like trex, felt out of place and sloppy. Changes the raptor involvement and not fixing stuff was awful. I would have rather had an entire movie in a city if they had to go that route

reply

This one is much better than JW.

I don't know why people complain about the gymnastics scene or the San Diego scene. It is a movie about dinosaurs, don't expect realism.

Yes it's a movie about dinosaurs but that doesn't mean you need to add a cheesy gymnastics scene. I enjoyed the city part but the plot holes were awful and they should have madr that it's own movie in my opinion. It didn't seem to fit

reply

Cheesy gymnastics I can overlook... because in JPIII you had a talking raptor and can hear a phone from the inside of a dinosaur.

JP had Grant talking to the Brachiosaurus through his hands. The JP3 talking Raptors is fine after he calls them using the 'skull'.

Probably right yet, it's just not a good film.

reply

I enjoy it because it feels a lot different from the first film. TLW is a lot darker in my opinion, and it is at least original, unlike Jurassic World.

I always felt TLW felt more like a documentary.

We were still dino-crazy after JP1, and our appetite for more dinosaurs led the creators to pack TLW with more animals... this diversity of huge herbivores and tiny compies made the dinosaurs look less scary. Even the t-Rexes were softened by adding a baby.

I could never get into this film that much. The characters weren't engaging to me, there weren't as many intense dinosaur sequences as the first IMO. Overall the movie just bores me tbh, it's not a bad film but it's my least favorite Jurassic park sequel

It's actually my favourite sequel too. JP3 just sucks no matter whatever way you look at it and JW is basically just milking the cow after it's already run dry.

The Lost World had potential to be better than it was though. I wish it had of followed the book more closely but then again I said the same thing about the first movie.
