Why Jurassic Park III is my favorite film in the JP series.

If you step back and look at it JP3 is basically a slasher movie, except instead of a masked killer there are dinosaurs spilling people's blood. Although many people hated JP3, I'm here to outline some of the reasons that it is my favorite film in the serious.

The set-pieces: This movie had some great set pieces. Most people don't know that a lot of that jungle wasn't a real jungle, it was a set that they build on a soundstage. There's also very distinct sequences that are not only really cool, but diverse. You got the airplane scene, the abandoned InGen lab, the pterosaur cage, and the river. All of these made for great grounds for dinosaur action without going too over-the-top.

The Spinosaurus: I love theropods and while many people were butthurt about the T-Rex getting killed, I enjoyed the battle scene and thought it was a great way to introduce the new "king of the jungle" for this film. The Spino was terrifying and the mix of CGI and animatronic made it even better.

The effects: The first three JP films all have great practical effects, but the raptors in JP3 looked especially good. Something that took me "out of the moment" in Jurassic World, was the blatant overuse of CGI.

The story: It's a self-contained story on an abandoned island with only a few people, made it feel even more claustrophobic and horror-like...and I'm a sucker for horror!

I would agree with you but the plot was the main problem. Everytime they introduced one of those classic look at that beautiful thing dramatic scene (brachiasaur scene jp1) (stegosaurus jp2) (gyrosphere jw) it was different in jp 3. They would just be having a conversation and boom a "dramatic" scene of that brachiasaurus came in the boat scene and it had no suspense or feel it was just like heres a dinosaur. The action scenes were probably only tge good part and i think they also should have spent more time on it i felt as if it were rushed. Jp1, 2, 4 were all very good because of the way they really worked hard for.

Tea Leoni. Take her out and maybe it gets better. Probably not.

I was 11 years old when it first came out and seeing a movie like that as a kid was an absolute blast. Just action upon action upon action and it had me hooked from the first minute to the end credits.

These days though (now that i'm much older and understand the concept of originality), I can easily see why so many people simply can't stand this movie. The plot is cheap, with characters who you simply wish would die. Alan Grant is literally the only character you even remotely care about.

The Kirby's are the most annoying, brain dead idiot parents I've ever seen in a movie. I try and watch this movie now and putting up with them now is just frustrating.

The action scenes are really well done, but the weak, lame story just makes this movie fall flat on it's face.

Like any film franchise, you just cannot beat the original.

You are so right Foxhound. When we are young, it doesn't take much to entertain us. At one point, I thought Stripes with Bill Murray was a really good movie. Fast forward 10 years it was like, damn this is a stupid movie.

That's how I am with things like the Die Hard series too... all the Die Hard sequels are cool to a certain degree but when im watching a die hard sequel it just makes me wish I was watching the original again lol

Raptorz look amazin in dis movie, very vivid colorz. Way better than 2nd 1. 2nd 1 had da gymnastix which render it unwatchable.

Of course, 1st movie still best and fx r actually better than 2nd movie which lookz cheap. I wud put world 2nd best and js3 a close 3rd
