No, it was the stars aligning with God/ the universe punishing Jim Carrey’s character for missing his son’s birthday due to lying, combined with his son’s birthday wish manifesting into a curse. The son invoked some ancient magic ritual.
Would be interesting if they made a spinoff involving a politician. Maybe Trump could be the star of the movie LoL
