'Home is in my hands'

what was that line about?
I love this movie and whenever i watch it this line puzzles me, I may be picking on something that was meant to be a more or less throwaway comment, but the way she said this makes me think theres quite some significance to it and i can't really figure out why.
It's something a grown woman would say, it doesn't seem like something a 10 year old would ever say, and the way she says it makes it sound like she's quoting or referring to something previous, did i miss something or is this just bad dialogue work?
the fact that she's holding his face when she says this makes me think she's referring to her own home, or is she telling trent he is his own home?? like is that supposed to mean wherver he goes he can me it home?
anyone have any theories?
