Devon's pronunciation of 'forest'

Did anyone else notice that Devon's pronunciation of "forest" sounded like "farest"?

I've never heard an American (especially a Southerner) use this pronunciation. Was there a reason for Devon's pronunciation, or did Mischa Barton just have a residual accent from her English/Irish parents? This continued to annoy me throughout the entire movie.

she was born in london and lived there for the first 6 or so years of her life i think. so she has always pronounced a couple of words oddly, as she has kind of a mixed accent of english/british/american

Not sure about Mischa's parents influencing her accent, but my family pronounces forest as she does, as do a lot of people from New England. Hope this helps. :)

Personally, I think I have too much bloom. Maybe that's the trouble with me.

Really? I say FOR-EST, and I'm from New England. I've never heard anyone say FAR-EST, and I've been to a lot of places in New England.

I'm not psycho, just a little loopy.
