L. Sprague De Camp

Does anybody know how Fantasy and Science Fiction author L. Sprague De Camp fulfilled his role as technical advisor on this film? The guy was born in 1907! This would make him around 90 years old when the film was released in 1997. Was he ever actually on the set during filming?

Much like his role on the Conan films, I suspect it's little more than a credit, and that he never actually affected any part of production. He probably wasn't in much of a condition to take a role anyway, seeing as he died only three years later.

Yeah, I imagine they probably just used some of the scholarly or critical writing De Camp did on Robert E. Howard, the guy who wrote the Conan books. I didn't bother checking so I didn't even know he was also given credits on the Conan films. I read here on IMDb that "Kull the Conqueror" was originally supposed to be another Conan movie but Arnold Schwarzenegger didn't want to do it or dropped out or whatever.
