Saw the entire movie, at last...

Yep I know its been out for a looooooong time but I never got to see it start to finish until today. Being home sick has its advantages, except for the fever, of course.

Its not that I didn't like the remake. There is this wonderful cast and a very good attempt to even out do the original. I just felt it wasn't up to par when compared with the original movie.

Somewhere I read that even the director of "The Day of the Jackal" complained that the title should be changed on the remake. Perhaps that is a little much, since its been so many years between the two movies.

The remake did make money, and was well received or rated if you will. Having now seen them both I'd have to give the original a 9 and the remake with its all star cast included maybe a 7 or 6 1/2.

Didn't Sidney do a great job. That guy can read the phone book and keep your attention....
