I laughed when Richard Gere asked Valentina, "Shall we dance?".

Nice reference, I thought, especially having watched parts of "Shall We Dance? (2004)" some time ago.

But wait a minute, "Jackal" was 1997. Any story on that line?

That term has been in existance for a very long time. The film was not the first time it has been used, neither was the scene in The Jackal.

Its most definitely not referencing the 2004 film.
