1) Engstrom wasn't thinking ahead when he was first being questioned (that he could use Vik's gun to switch bullets with later), so did he just forget to show them Vik's gun initially, and then decided not to hand it in?

2) Did he imagine the scene in the car where he feels up the student?

1) Police in Norway aren't allowed to carry guns, unless they have permission. There would have been an inquest, had he showed them it, and his own gun could have been linked to the shooting...

2) I don't think so, no...
