What happened to her? Spoilers

We never find out what happened to the murdered teen. We get pieces of the story, but there are too many gaps. Was it an accident, as the writer Holst often proclaims, or was it deliberate, as Holst implies on the mountaintop? As seen in the first scene, the death appears to be accidental, because who would try to murder someone in that way? Was he attempting to rape her and then she hit her head against the nail jutting out of the wall? That might explain her bruises. But why was she so warm, and why did she have such a funny smell, according to Holst?

In the American version Williams tries to comfort her by kissing her. She laughs at him and he beats her to death.

In the final conversation between the killer and Jonas, the killer says he took her to the boathouse to have sex with her. She touched his face and neck. Jonas asked him if he was able to manage? The killer said he tried...is he referring to not being able to perform?

It doesn't make sense, because in the previous meeting the killer says he just wanted to comfort her, "but then I got turned on, she noticed"... "only once and once was enough" she didn't bleed much....again wtf?

"She was just very tired. I put her to bed"

WTF?

First he says he just wanted to comfort her but became turned on....then he says he took her to the shack to have sex and wasn't able...

Somebody explain this *beep* please.

They met at the boathouse. She was drunk. He got turned on by her, and tried to have sex with her. He couldn't get it up, she laughed, and he slammed her head off the wall. Her head didn't bleed much. Then she died, slowly, and he put her down on the bead. Then he prepared her for the police...

Have a nice day

that's how I understood the killers story too, and it still doesn't make sense - maybe it's just me. He "got turned on" but "couldn't manage" - he either got, erm, excited, or he didn't. Unless he means he got excited at the thought of being with her, but when it came to the actual act itself, it didn't happen. It's not clear. And seeing as the detective doesn't care about his story and the killer died almost immediately afterwards, I guess we'll never know!

That's exactly what that means. He was turned on by her and wanted to have sex with her, but then couldn't get it up or lost his erection. Mind willing, body didn't perform. That's pretty common for men of his age, really. It's why you see so many commercials on TV for HIMS, Ro, Eroxon.
