I agree. That scene is every bit as uproariously funny as the Meg Ryan
scene in When Harry met Sally, and deserves to be just as well known,
quoted and beloved. But nobody knows what I'm talking about when I
mention it! It drives me crazy.

You know, there have been film compilations called,"That's entertainment"
and "That's Dancing". But there really needs to be one called,"That's
Funny!" to highlight all of these undiscovered little gems.

I love how upset Kline gets by his sloppy-looking untucked shirt,
and then how he tries to keep still with his face all scrunched up in frustration, visibily pulsating to the music until he finally
explodes into that frenziedly joyous dancing all over his house,
while the voice on the tape bellows,"Kick someone! Punch someone!"

And earlier,"Real men do not dance; they drink, they work, they
have bad backs, they DO NOT DANCE. Hold still...whatever you do...
do not dance."

I'm so glad Kevin ignored him! *Insert grinning smiley here*

The scene is amusing and fun. but I think it damages the overall dynamic of the film. The interactive cassette echoes "Jefferey" and "La Cage aux Folles" for me and seems a bit of a filler.

It is a warm and funny film, definitely worthy of multiple viewings.

> I know teachers who are gay and nobody gives a rat's ass about it.

Keep in mind that this movie is eleven years old. Being a gay teacher in a small town wasn't exactly accepted back then and most people reacted just like the principal did.

> And I don't think Cameron was so great anyway.

I think that was the point. This movie was poking fun at all stereotypes, including Hollywood itself. Did you notice the names of the movies that Cameron's competitors were nominated for? They sounded ultra-cheesy. That implies that Hollywood only rewards bad movies.

> And Selleck sucked *beep*

I agree. I don't think Selleck was playing the part poorly on purpose for humor; I think he was just uncomfortable with the role and had no idea how to play it.

A very nice movie indeed, quite overlooked too.

Boycott movies that involve real animal violence! (and their directors too)

An incredibly stupid screenplay containing absolutely moronic assumptions and to be appreciated only by idiotic children and their idiot parents. My 1/10 is too generous.

Only two things are actually knowable:
It is now and you are here. All else is merely a belief.

This movie has complete control over me. When I flip past it I can't help but stop and watch it. So funny.
