Beaupre's gang were thieves-for-hire NOT terrorists - anyone catch this?

I noticed that Beaupre and his gang were not a part of the North Korean terrorists, but a group of thieves-for-hire who were employed by the terrorists to get the chip. When the terrorist leader later called Beaupre on his cellphone and told Beaupre that they would have to "nullify the deal and all the participants invovled if the chip was not found in time" he meant that the job would be off, Beaupre wasted his time, and his gang would not get paid... NOT that Beaupre's gang would get wacked or something. Did anyone catch this tidbit?

I don't apologize. I'm sorry, but that's how I am. - Homer Simpson

They were spies wanted by the FBI. Also, the leader came out of nowhere.
